Chadwell Heath helicopter chase leads to Ilford man’s arrest

Police arrested a 27-year-old man on suspicion of burglary after a chase involving the Metropolitan Police helicopter.
After spotting a man in their rear garden, and another “loitering suspiciously” in front of their neighbour’s property, residents in Geneva Gardens, Chadwell Heath, dialled 999.
Officers pursued on foot with assistance from the helicopter overhead and eventually arrested the man, of Ilford, on Thursday at around 6pm.
The man was released on bail pending further inquiries and forensic results.
