Chadwell Heath and Newbury Park care homes opening doors to the public

PUBLISHED: 15:45 12 June 2014

Two care homes are opening their doors to the public as part of a national initiative.

Chadwell House Residential Care Home and Cranvale Residential Care Home will be participating in National Care Home Open Day on June 20, by hosting a range of attractions.

Chadwell House, in Chadwell Heath Lane, Chadwell Heath, will be transformed into a tea room, complete with team members dressed up as old-fashioned waitresses.

There will also be live music from the past throughout the day, arts and crafts sessions with children from Furze Nursery School and afternoon tea.

Cranvale Residential Care Home, of Buntingbridge Road, Newbury Park, will hold a 1940s themed day.

The home will be decorated with bunting, flags and balloons and residents and staff will be dressed in 1940s clothes.

There will be live music from the decade, an English and American buffet with food from the 1940s and a Winston Churchill impersonator.

Schoolchildren will also be visiting to take part in activities.

The events at both care homes, run by Sanctuary Care, will run from 11am to 4pm.

Visitors are welcome to look around them and ask staff any questions they have.
