Celebrate reading, poetry and drama during Redbridge libraries’ OctoberFest

Redbridge libraries are holding author visits, guided talks and theatre workshops during their OctoberFest.

Highlights of the month-long programme, which starts on October 2 include Susie Nott-Bower talking about her darkly funny novel The Making of Her.

She visits the Keith Axon Centre in Grove Road, Chadwell Heath, on Wednesday (October 3) from 8pm.

The following night an open mic poetry night encourages visitors to bring their own favourite poem to read at Wanstead Library in Spratt Hall Road from 6.15pm.

On October 6, children can recreate classic tale The Jungle Book with a workshop in Wanstead Library’s Churchill Room, entry £3.

Author Kate Nivison will explore the 17th century witchcraft trials in Britain. She speaks at Woodford Green library in Snakes Lane West on October 10, also as part of the Woodford Festival.

And learn the process behind a Mills and Boon novel with writer Katherine Garbera at Hainault Library in Manford Way on October 11.

Entry to her visit is £2 and the theatre workshop is £3, the other events mentioned are free.
