A boy suffered a facial injury after being hit by a bike in a park yesterday - the second collision in Gants Hill that day which involved a child.

The London Ambulance Service (LAS) was called to Valentines Park, in Emerson Road, at 5.15pm to reports of a road traffic accident.

It sent a single responder in a car and one ambulance crew to the scene, where the boy was treated for a facial injury before being taken to Whipps Cross Hospital, in Leytonstone.

An earlier collision in Gants Hill saw a 10-year-old boy hit by a car.

The LAS was called to Gants Hill Library, in Cranbrook Road, at 12.20pm and treated the child for foot and leg injuries.

The boy was taken to the Royal London Hospital, in Whitechapel.

Following the incident, Cranbrook Road was blocked southbound towards Gants Hill Roundabout and a single alternate flow was directed by the police.

Redbridge police are investigating this collision and have not made any arrests so far.
