Boris Johnson’s visit to Gants Hill on Tuesday provoked the Redbridge Labour group to call him to be held to account for “letting the people of Redbridge down on policing and public transport”.
The Mayor of London was in the borough to help the Redbridge Conservatives’ election campaign on Tuesday (6).
And Cllr Wes Streeting, the deputy leader of the Labour group, was keen to raise the issue of closing three of Redbridge’s police stations, cutting policing, tube fare increases, and “wasted” public money to deliver step-free access at Newbury Park station with him.
Cllr Streeting said: “The Tories may hope that Boris gives their lacklustre election campaign a needed boost, but his presence is merely another reminder of the broken promises that have let residents down.”
