Station Manager Dan Alie, who was at the scene said: “Six people from nearby flats were evacuated as a precaution all thankfully uninjured. The crews will be at the scene throughout the morning damping down small pockets of fire.”

The Brigade was called at just before 2am and the fire was under control at 0553. Fire crews from Dagenham and surrounding fire stations attended the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
