The Jack Petchey Glee Club Challenge, a music and dance project, is aimed at young performers who want to come together as a group with a chance to win a share of £5,000 in prizes and perform at London’s indigO2 at the prestigious O2 arena on November 18 2012.

The annual event, launched last year, is a flagship programme of the Jack Petchey Foundation inspired by the hugely successful and award winning ‘Glee’ TV series.

It’s designed to find the best groups of young musical talent from across London and Essex and is open to everyone - schools; youth clubs; drama and dance groups; friends with a passion for performing; established groups or those just starting out.

You must be aged between 11 and 25 and groups must number between eight and 30 performers. The top 27 groups will be invited to perform in one of three regional finals in September as well as attending boot camp workshops. These will be hosted by a professional singing coach and choreographer to help teams develop their skills. The best nine from each of the regional finals will go forward to compete in the Grand Final in November.

To enter - visit www.gleeclubchallenge.co.uk to get details and then film and upload a video of the group performing. Entries close on June 22 2012.

Patrons of the Jack Petchey Glee Club Challenge include TV media star Graham Norton and actress Tamzin Outhwaite who were judges on last year’s final. Graham Norton said: “This is a great competition and I am thrilled to be a part of this fantastic celebration of all the young talent that exists all over this great city. Last year they had us in tears.”
