The Olympic Park has been closed off to outsiders for the past seven years and, for all the talk of Legacy, maps of the site cannot convey the size and scale of the new neighbourhoods and sports facilities soon to be a permanent feature of Newham’s landscape.

Here are some exclusive pictures from inside the Park as it operates during the London 2012 Games in anticipation of what it will be like when it begins to reopen in July 2013.

Brick Lane Comedy Festival cancelled after opposition from community groups

A comedy festival in east London due to feature acts including Al Murray, Alan Davies and Ed Byrne has been cancelled because of “heavy opposition from local community groups”.
