Four speakers were invited to Energise in Green Lane, Goodmayes to speak to both members and visitors of the club.

Last week’s health and well-being event was described as “informative and interesting” by Energise managing director Sam Chowdhury.

Explaining the thinking behind it he said: “For the business, it’s exposing our business to the public. And for myself, I gave up my City job to help the community and develop the community in terms of health and well being.” Speakers included Helen Menezes, a community development worker from Tower Hamlets, who spoke about the need for everyone to exercise.

Shiela Stocker, a holistic therapist from Total Wellbeing, spoke about alternative therapies such as body massage therapy, while Marilyn Morgan, a personal trainer, spoke about the benefits of personal training during the two-hour event.

Life coaching was the topic covered by Rita Hurry, as she explored how it can help people achieve their goals.
