A theatre school’s students are preparing for a journey through the ups and downs of life.
In their original musical production, The A-Z of Life, the pupils from the Wenn Stage School, Seven Kings Road, Seven Kings, will take the audience on a journey of music, dance and drama at the Kenneth More Theatre in Ilford on Sunday.
School principal Dawn Wenn, who trained many of the young stars, said: “The musical was written by staff and pupils and is a rollercoaster ride through life.”
The vibrant show aims to evoke a lot of emotion from the audience.
“We like to make people laugh and cry,” added Ms Wenn.
The Wenn Stage School, which comprises about 300 pupils, has performed a production every year at the theatre since it opened in 1975.
The school’s children are aged between two and 18, and regularly attend classes in dance, drama, singing and musical theatre.
Singer-songwriter Jessie J, who was born in Chadwell Heath, was once one of the children performing at the Kenneth More Theatre with the school and Ms Wenn hopes that many of the children will follow in her illustrious footsteps.
She said: “Lots of our pupils have gone to theatre schools and to work in film and television.
“We have a long record of theoretical production.”
Ms Wenn said those lucky enough to see the show are in for a fun afternoon of entertainment, but tickets are limited. “We’re nearly sold out already,” she said.
The show is aimed at families and children of all ages. It will start at 3.30pm and tickets cost £15.
