Transglobal Underground
Sat 21 Nov / 8pm/ Bar / £13 / £9 advanced An eclectic line-up of DJ's, producers and musicians from all backgrounds and cultures, who refuse to be straitjacketed into one style. Their first four albums featured Natacha Atlas as lead singer, and their single 'Temple Head' was used in a Coca Cola ad campaign for the Olympics. In 2008, they won the BBC Radio 3 World Music Album for their seventh album, Moonshout. They mix styles and rhythms with a total disregard for genre, technological barriers and commonsense.

Fri 27 Nov / 8pm / Bar / £11 / £8 advanced STRIKE is the Mediterranean sound chasing northern European horizons. Aquino, trumpeter from Benevento and Casarano, sax player from Salento, augment their unique sounds with a touch of electronica, including loop stations, multi-effects and rhythm loops, creating an unpredictable and original duet full of pathos, tenderness and volcanic energy.

The world music and dance series EQUATOR returns to Rich Mix for an evening of Flamenco, Middle Eastern and Indian music. Guitarist Ramon Ruiz, Oud maestro Attab Haddad, and world-class bansuri player Teymour Housego (Indian bamboo flute) came together to form Alcazaba.

Black Voices

A cappella quintet Black Voices are always looking to diversify and this has meant that composers have been able to add new threads of colour to the rich tapestry of songs that make up their repertoire. These, along with the ever-growing range of pop, gospel, jazz and traditional African and Caribbean songs they have mastered over their 21 years, have earned Black Voices a worldwide reputation.

Lowkey is an award-winning rapper, poet, playwright and political activist. Having gained huge acclaim from the hip hop press he has gone on to impress critics on Radio 4 and challenge mainstream stereotypes of hip hop artists. This will be his only headline show in London in December.

Two of London's top promoters are teaming up for one awesome shindig of a tropical, cumbia, Latino New Year's Eve party. Two live bands, the hottest dj's and our great venue bang in the heart of East End's clubland. The live bands are Eri Okan, full on north eastern Brazil samba, and Los Chinces, London's one and only psychedelic, tropical, electric cumbia band. DJs and MCs are Movimientos soundsystem, plus global DJ Russ Jones (aka Hackney Globetrotter).
