Manhunt after £13k Hainault raid
TOOLS and equipment worth more than £13,000 could be changing hands on the streets of Redbridge after crooks grabbed the goods under the cover of darkness.
A gang forced their way into a warehouse belonging to carpentry and joinery firm Beamfast Ltd in Forest Road, Hainault.
The warehouse, housing three large units packed with electrical tools for home and commercial use, was ransacked, with more than 2,000 items shipped out.
It is believed they loaded the tools and equipment into a van.
Investigators believe the gang will try to sell the items to unwitting traders and residents in a bid to make a quick buck.
Among the items stolen during the raid on July 18 at 2am were:
l Five chop saws, including three by manufacturer Dewalt, valued in total at £1,680.
l Four nail guns, also including three by manufacturer Dewalt, valued at £1,907.
l Five 235mm circular saws and four 190mm circular saws, all from manufacturer Makita, valued at £1,199.
l One thousand dust masks valued at £740.
l Paint brushes, angle grinders, a cordless hammer drill, vibrating saw and pistol drills were also taken during the raid.
A Transit-type van is believed to have been used to remove the tools and equipment, but its make or model is not known.
