Police hunt knifepoint mugger

A WOMAN was mugged at knifepoint as she walked on her own.

A man tried to yank the bag off the 20-year-old's shoulder as she walked in Warwick Gardens, Ilford, near the junction with Wellesley Road.

He then held a knife at her, at which point the frightened woman let go of the bag.

The man ran off towards Wellesley Road.

Police have now released details of the mugging, which happened at 6.30pm on Thursday, January 21 in a bid to track down witnesses.

He is described as white, aged about 17, and wearing a black cap under a blue hooded top with white writing on it.
