Man knifed during car sale

A MAN stabbed in the leg last night was trying to buy a car from his attackers, it has emerged.

The 40-year-old was attacked in Redbridge Lane West, at the junction with Corbett Road, Wanstead at about 6.30pm.

Detectives have arrested two men in connection with the incident.

A police spokesman said: "The victim was in attendance to buy a vehicle which had been advertised for sale.

"He was stabbed in the leg and the suspects made off in a black Peugeot vehicle."

Officers are warning people to be "very cautious" when buying cars and taking large amounts of cash with them.

The man was taken to Whipps Cross Hospital, and police believe his injuries are not life-threatening.
