SCHOOLGIRL TV star Jennifer Mistri came safely through Saturday's edition of Strictly Dance Fever to make it to the last 14 of the competition.

Jennifer, 18, is taking time out from A-level studies at Canon Palmer Catholic High School in Aldborough Road South, Seven Kings, in a bid to dance away with the show's £50,000 top prize.

She had a nerve-racking time on the first week of the show when she and partner Mark Williamson were shortlisted for eviction.

But solid performances in the Argentine Tango and the Guapacha put the pair out of the danger zone this week with a solid 25 points out 40.

And this time, even the famously scathing judge Arlene Phillips said Jennifer - the youngest of the contestants - danced like "a little fireball".

Speaking from the Strictly Dance Fever mansion, Jennifer said the boot camp where the couples are given intensive dance coaching was "just so cool - but we are not even allowed to go outside to go to the shop".

She added: "We are really working hard. We got some criticism last week but we did put a lot of effort in. And I don't mind Arlene's comments because she is a professional and she knows what she is talking about.

"It is hard work but I am really enjoying it. Breakfast is at 8am then we have ballet class at 9am and spend the rest of the day in and out of the studios.

"Everyone is really friendly - it's just like a big family and it's not as competitive as it looks. If someone needs help, we will help."

Her message to readers - repeated on posters that have appeared on walls around Ilford town centre in recent weeks, is simple: "Vote for us because we are working so hard!"

To vote for Jennifer, tune in to Strictly Dance Fever on BBC1 on Saturday at 6.20pm and 9.30pm and call 0901 121 2402.
